The City of Rogers and BikeNWA have partnered for the Slow Streets NWA program, running on the weekends, 7pm Friday evening to 7pm Sunday evening, from September 4 to November 1. The program includes signage that reminds all road users to slow down, share the road, and be safe. The streets are not closed to vehicular traffic.

Slow Streets NWA is a response to the increased need for space outdoors and use of NWA trails, sidewalks, and parks during the COVID 19 pandemic. The goal is to make neighborhood streets safer to walk and bike, particularly in areas with narrow or missing sidewalks, allowing for safer social distancing.

On these streets, residents can make trips to local businesses, explore the community, and access Downtown Rogers, the farmers market, and soon to be completed Railyard Park. The route crosses 8th Street/71 Business using the light at Oak Street to provide better access for residents to cross into downtown without a vehicle and exemplify shared-use opportunities safely.

If community members want to engage with the Slow Streets NWA program, there are many ways for residents and businesses to get involved. For more information or questions, visit or reach out to Lauren Hildreth at
